Gender Boundary in High School Sports

A recent decision means that girls can now play on boys sports teams in Ontario high schools. This ruling has not been met positively by everyone; some are concerned that with their star athletes cross the gender boundary, girls teams will no longer be successful.

The other side of the argument is that allowing girls to compete at their level, whatever the gender of their opponents, will encourage them to improve and stay involved with sports that challenge them. High level female athletes already are practicing and playing with men.

What do you folks think?
