The Rise of Afghanistan’s Fearless Young Feminists” has been making its rounds around the feminist blogosphere today. It is a nice reminder that Afghan women aren’t simply victims waiting around to be saved by men from other parts of the world (for those who need that reminder). For more on the  brave work of Afghanistan’s feminists I highly recommend Zoya’s Story, a non-fiction account of one woman’s feminist upbringing and struggle in Afghanistan.

Alberta NDP MLA Rachel Notley calls for better reporting of deaths of children in provincial care. More on children’s deaths in Alberta provincial care here. The vast majority were Aboriginal.
