News and Stuff: Aboriginal Juries for Aboriginal Defendents, Rosa Park’s Attempted Rape, Drawing Breasts, and Wikipedia Gender Gap

Ontario’s top court will hear arguments on whether Aboriginal people on trial have the right to have more of the people from their community and cultural background on their juries. Considering that the Canadian judicial system is already a colonial invention not based in traditional Aboriginal methods of justice, I think at least making changes to reduce the tendency of having colonizers judging colonized would be a step in the right direction.

-A newly located Rosa Parks essays reveals a rape attempt by her white neighbour.

-A reminder to artists on how to draw breasts – realistically.

-A call for more women to contribute to Wikipedia. (Currently only 13% of those editing Wikipedia are women!)
